On saturday the 29th of August there was a public day abour ropes in the Muesum of Nijkerk. Visitors were able to make ropes themselves on a demo model of the ropewalk. In the expedition ‘from fibre to rope’, there was a lot to see about the history of the rope business in Nijkerk, which belongs to the Langman family since 1893. During the rope day, there was also the possibility to visit Touwfabriek Langman at the Beurtschipper. All the funds were for the museum. The family Langman tenfold the amount and offered a cheque of EUR 1.750,- to the board of the the foundation Old Nijkerk. The expedition is available until saturday the 24th of October during museumday of the provence of Gelderland. That day it is again possible to make ropes at the museum of Nijkerk.
