Q1 UHMWPE

also called Dyneema® or Spectra®

Q1 Dyneema UHMWPE rope LangmanRopes is an extremely strong, lightweight and durable synthetic rope, developed as a high-quality alternative to steel wire. On a weight-to-weight basis, Q1 is up to 15 times stronger than steel wire, making it ideal for applications requiring maximum strength and minimal mass. Thanks to its pre-stretched construction and PU coating, this rope offers minimal stretch, maximum breaking strength, and excellent resistance to abrasion, UV radiation, and moisture.

What is Q1 UHMWPE/Dyneema?

Q1 is a 12-strand braided line made of UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene), also known as Dyneema® SK78. The rope is pre-stretched and has a polyurethane coating, making it even stronger and less stretchy than standard Dyneema lines. Q1 is easy to splice, floats on water, and maintains its strength both wet and dry.

Benefits of Q1 Dyneema Rope

  • Extremely strong: breaking forces up to 70.000 kg
  • Lightweight: specific gravity 0.99 – the rope floats
  • Minimum stretch: only 1,5% at 20% load
  • Weather resistant: PU coating for UV and abrasion resistance
  • Chemical resistant: resistant to oil, grease and chemicals
  • Easy to split: ideal for custom work

Applications

Q1 Dyneema UHMWPE is suitable for demanding applications:
  • Winch rope and tow rope
  • Drivetrain for technical installations
  • Glider pulling
  • Sled dog leashes
  • Kite and halyard ropes
  • Theater and studio (invisible black version)
