Four generations of Steenbergen and nine generations of Langman join forces

Sometimes doors close so that new ones can open.

As of January 1, 2027, an impressive family story comes to an end. After four generations, Touwslagerij Steenbergen will cease operations. A decision that affects not only Albert Steenbergen and his family but also marks a piece of Dutch ropemaking history.

At the same time, we look to the future with great confidence and enthusiasm. For as of the same date, Albert Steenbergen will be joining our team at Langman Touwfabriek in Nijkerk.

To us, this feels like much more than a new colleague joining the team. It is bringing together two family businesses that have shared the same craft, the same passion, and the same love for rope for generations.

While the Steenbergen family has built up its knowledge and craftsmanship over four generations, the Langman family has been doing so for nine generations now. Both companies understand the value of quality, expertise, reliability, and personal attention to customers. Values ​​that have been passed down from generation to generation.

We are therefore proud that Albert is bringing his knowledge, experience, and commitment to Nijkerk. In doing so, a large part of the craftsmanship and tradition of Touwslagerij Steenbergen is preserved for the future.

In a time when more and more artisanal businesses are disappearing, we find it remarkable that precisely two family histories come together in this way. Not as the end of a story, but as the beginning of a new chapter.

As of January 1, 2027, the forces of four generations of Steenbergen and nine generations of Langman will be combined.
