Polyamide / Nylon rope

Langman Ropes Nylon is a 3-strand, 4-strand twisted or 8-strand braided polyamide, nylon rope. Nylon rope is often confused with polypropyleen rope. This type 'orange diy store rope' or the coloured polypropyleen cord is of a different material. Nylon rope is used a lot in the shipping industry as mooring line, because of the high breaking load and high elongation. Besides this, nylon rope is also used often in hoist and lifting applications and oceanographical applications where the relatively high elongation is desired.

Properties:

- Strong rope
- Relatively high elongation 10 - 40 %
(depending on the load)
- Looses 10-15% of it's breaking load when getting wet
- Might get stiff in time
- Production according to DIN EN696

Finishing:

- Buying unit: per reel or coil of 220mtr
- Possibilites making an eye / loop with or without protection and/or a shackle, ask for the possibilities
- The construction and diameters mentioned are average, but
We are producer with our own production and can easily produce different diameters and aberrant (longer) lengths!

Colours:

- White

Alternatives:

- Polyester rope, does not loose breaking load when getting wet, remains flexible (does not get stiff) and is better UV-resistant
- Polypropyleen rope, the often mentioned 'orange diy store rope'
- Polypropyleen coloured cord, braided polypropyleen / nylon cord
